Every day I run Limewire, and I see some poor fellow trying to download Halo, a 600mb program, with a download speed of 8kps. No one ever gets more than 4% done. Sure, I’d love to leave Limewire running 24/7, but my poor G5 needs a break every now and then. So I decided to write this little note on how I get my software and games.

The best way to get FAST downloads on extremely large apps is #MacFilez. #MacFilez is an IRC channel on EFNet.
If you aren’t familiar with IRC, the first step is to get an IRC client. I use Snak (www.snak.com). I don’t have much experience with other clients, but I assume they are similar.
